How to Manually Update Your Chrome Extensions

Generally, you’ll need to manually update your extension to see our latest features.

All of your extensions update in the background every once in a while. There’s no action required from you for automatic updates; however, this process can take a couple of days (in some cases up to a week).

Here's how to force your extensions to update whenever you want:

1. Open the Extensions icon at the top right-hand corner of your browser or paste chrome://extensions  into your address bar.
2. Click Manage Extensions.
3. Enable Developer Mode at the top right.
4. Click the Update button that appears.

And that's it! Your extensions will automatically update. It might take a few seconds for the process to complete as your extensions are downloaded, but you'll be good to go in no time.

If you’re unable to update your Screencastify extension, it’s likely because your administrator has chosen to administer updates on their end. We recommend reaching out and asking that person to manually trigger the update for your whole domain. Or, you’ll have to wait for the update to occur in the background.
