Question: Why do I hear an echo when I record my mic and computer audio?
Answer: Recording both your microphone and the audio coming from your computer in the same recording can cause an echo if you're not wearing headphones.
This happens when the computer audio is played loudly through your speakers and is then picked up again by your microphone (hence the echo effect).
To avoid an echo, we recommend doing one or both of the following:
- Wearing headphones when recording both microphone and tab/system audio
- Muting the computer audio on your computer's speakers (Screencastify will still detect and include the audio)
