Question: Why don't I hear any audio on my recording?
Answer: In order to hear the audio in a recording you will need to change your audio settings before the recording has begun.
NOTE
If a recording does not have the desired audio, the audio cannot be recovered.

I don't hear audio on my Mac recording
Due to system limitations imposed by Apple, it's impossible to record system audio on Macs (the sound coming from your computer during a desktop recording).
To record the sound coming from your computer on a Mac you will need to make a "Browser Tab" recording:
- Click on the Screencastify extension in the top right corner of your Google Chrome window
- Select "Browser Tab" recording
- Toggle "Microphone" audio on
- Wear headphones to avoid an echo
- Select "Show more options"
- Toggle "Tab Audio" on
- Press "Record" to begin
I don't hear audio on my Windows/ChromeOS recording
To hear the audio on your Windows or ChromeOS device:
- Click on the Screencastify extension in the top right corner of your Google Chrome window
- Select "Desktop" recording
- Toggle "Microphone" audio on
- Wear headphones to avoid an echo
- Select "Show more options"
- Toggle "System Audio" on
- Press "Record" to begin
- Please check the "share audio" box in the bottom left corner of the Chrome pop-up
