👋 Welcome to Screencastify Edit! Take a look below to learn how to use all of our editing tools to make your videos more effective and engaging.
🚪Access Screencastify Edit
If you've just created a video in Screencastify Record, you can use the "Open in Editor" button. That will automatically add your video into the Screencastify Edit timeline.
If you'd like to edit videos created outside of Screencastify Record or access the editor directly, check out the three other ways to access our browser-based editor.
➕Add videos to the timeline
Screencastify Edit makes it easy to merge multiple videos together (including videos made outside of Screencastify Record).
To add videos to the timeline, click on the blue plus button on the bottom right. From there, you can decide whether you'd like to add videos from your Google Drive or from your computer's hard drive.
✂️ Using the cut tool
The cut tool makes it easy to slice longer clips into smaller ones. To use it, select a spot on a clip and then click the scissors tool. Now, you've created two clips out of just one 🎊
🖼️ Using the crop tool
The crop tool allows you to eliminate unwanted footage from clips. To use it, select the crop tool. Then, draw a rectangle around the portions of your screen you'd like to remain in the video. Everything else will be eliminated.
🔍 Using the zoom tool
The zoom tool allows you to focus viewer attention by zooming into something on screen. Use the zoom tool by clicking the zoom icon on the bottom left. Then, manipulate the box to include only the portion of the screen you'd like to be zoomed into.
🔠 Using the text tool
Our text tool makes it easy to add text to your videos. Start by clicking the text tool on the bottom left. Then, type anything you'd like. The text will be saved when you click away from the text.
🤗 Saving your video
Once you've made all of your edits, it's time to save your masterpiece. To accomplish this, click the "Export" button on the top right and then decide whether you'd like to save your creation to Google Drive or export it as an mp4.
