If I save my recordings locally, where are they stored?

When you choose to store your recordings locally, your video files are saved directly in your controller tab.

TIP

We highly recommended automatically saving all of your videos to your Google Drive. It's much safer and you will see more options for exporting your recordings.

If you choose to save your recordings locally and would like to access them, you must download or save the recording directly from your controller tab. Here is a quick walkthrough of what this process looks like:

1. Click the Screencastify extension.
   • Upon clicking the Screencastify extension, a pinned tab will appear, which is the controller tab.
2. Open the controller tab.
   • Your locally saved recordings will appear in the controller tab.
3. Right-click on the recording that you'd like to save to your computer and click on "Save video as" to save it.
