How do I export my recording?

Question: How do I export my recording?
Answer: You can export your recording from the Video Management Page in several different file types.
There are four different file types you can export videos as:
NOTE: Viewer analytics and interactive questions will not export. These features are only available on the watch page.

Export as a .webm file

A WebM file is an open source, high quality video format. WebM videos are compatible with most major browsers as well as with some video players like VLC. 
  1. Click on the video you would like to export from the My Videos Library
  2. On the Video Management page select the "Share & Export" drop-down menu
  3. Select "Download Drive File"
  4. A new window will open the .webm file from Drive
  5. From there, click on the 'Download' arrow to download the .webm file of your video

Export as an mp4

NOTE: You must save your recordings on Google Drive to enable MP4 export.
  1. Click on the video you would like to export from the My Videos Library
  2. On the Video Management page select the "Share & Export" drop-down menu
  3. Select "Export as MP4"
  4. In the pop-up, select 'Export'
  5. You will see an export box pop up in the lower right hand corner showing the progress of the export
  6. Once the export is complete, you will see a green arrow that will allow you to download the MP4. Click that green arrow to download.

Export audio as MP3

NOTE: You must save your recordings on Google Drive to enable MP3 export.
  1. Click on the video you would like to export from the My Videos Library
  2. On the Video Management page select the "Share & Export" drop-down menu
  3. Select "Export as MP3"
  4. You will see an export progress box open on the bottom right
  5. Once the export is complete, you will see a green arrow appear in that box
  6. Click on the green arrow to download your MP3

Export as an animated .GIF

NOTE: The GIF format is meant for short animations. Screencastify may fail to export a long recordings as a GIF. Learn more here.
      1. Click on the video you would like to export from the My Videos Library
      2. On the Video Management page select the "Share & Export" drop-down menu
      3. Select "Export as GIF"
      4. In the pop-up, select 'Export'
      5. You will see an export progress box pop up in the bottom right hand corner
      6. Once the export is complete, a green arrow will appear
      7. Click the green arrow to download your GIF
