Screencastify can automatically sync grades from your Interactive Questions to your Google Classroom gradebook when you use the Screencastify Google Classroom Add-on.
If you share a Screencastify quiz to Google Classroom without using the Classroom Add-on, grades will not automatically sync to your Google Classroom gradebook.
This article explains what you need to use grade sync and how to get started.
To automatically sync Screencastify grades with Google Classroom, you'll need access to the Screencastify Google Classroom Add-on.
Availability of Classroom add-ons is managed through your school's Google Workspace settings. Depending on your school's configuration, the Screencastify Add-on may already be available to you. You may be able to install it yourself, or your Google Workspace administrator may need to enable or install it for you.
If you don't see Screencastify available in the Add-ons section of Google Classroom, contact your school's Google Workspace administrator for assistance.
Important: Sharing a Screencastify quiz to Google Classroom and using the Screencastify Google Classroom Add-on are different workflows. Automatic grade sync requires the Screencastify Google Classroom Add-on.
To create an assignment and enable grade syncing in Google Classroom:
- Go to Google Classroom and select the class where you want to create the assignment.
- Click on the Classwork tab at the top of the page.
- Click the + Create button and select Assignment from the dropdown menu.
- Under Add-ons in the assignment creation panel, select Screencastify For Google.
- Locate and select the video you want to assign from your Screencastify library.
- Click Assign at the bottom right of the pop-up window. This automatically attaches the video and enables Grade sync.
- Fill in any fields you prefer (such as title, instructions, or due date), then click Assign in the top-right corner to post the assignment.
