You can use Transform to automatically generate a document from a recorded video.
Step 1: Open Transform
You can access Transform in two ways:
From the left navigation:
Click Transform
Click Transform a Video
Or from a video:
Open a video in your library
Click Transform
Step 2: Select a video
Choose a video from:
My Videos
Shared with Me
Google Drive
Local device upload
The selected video will appear in the video player on the Transform page.
Step 3: Choose a document type
Transform includes several document types designed for different use cases.
Available options include:
How-to Tutorial — step-by-step instructions
Bug Ticket — technical issue documentation
Study Guide — summaries and learning materials
Custom — create your own template
Step 4: Customize your document
You can adjust several settings before generating your document.
Options include:
Length
AI Suggested
Short
Standard
Detailed
Screenshots
Toggle screenshots on or off to include images from the video.
Timestamps
Enable timestamps to create clickable time references in the document.
Additional Instructions
Add specific instructions to guide how the AI structures the document.
Example: “Create a tutorial with five steps and include clear explanations.”
Step 5: Generate the document
Click Generate.
Transform will analyze the video's transcript and create a structured document.
Generation time varies depending on:
Video length
Whether screenshots are enabled
Server demand
You can safely leave the page while generation is in progress. You will receive an email notification when the document is ready.
Step 6: Edit and refine
After generation, you can edit the document directly in the editor.
You can:
Edit text sections
Add or delete sections
Add or remove images
Adjust step numbering
Edits do not count toward your usage limits.
Step 7: Export or share
When your document is ready, you can:
Copy it to the clipboard
Export to Google Docs
Download as a .docx file
Download as a PDF
You can also attach the document to the video's Watch Page so viewers can read the document alongside the video.
