Question: What are the different Submit recording types?
Answer: Submitters can record their desktop, their webcam, or a combination of the two.
When creating a Submit topic, you have the option to choose which type of recording you would like to have your students create. Here are the differences between each type of topic:
- Screen + Webcam recording: A video submitted to this type of topic will include a computer's webcam AND screen, as well as the audio recorded by the microphone.
- This type of topic does not support mobile devices such as cell phones and iPads, so if you believe that students will be accessing a Submit assignment from their phone or tablet, please choose the "Webcam recording only" option.
- Webcam recording only: A video submitted to this type of topic will use a computer's webcam or mobile device's camera to record the audio and visual of a person speaking into the camera. They are great for capturing reflections or group discussions.
- Screen recording only: A video submitted to this type of topic will include everything on a computer's screen, as well as the audio captured by the microphone. They are perfect when you want students to record a presentation or explain any digital work, but they cannot be used with mobile devices or iPads.
