We store the minimal amount of responder data necessary to make Submit work (learn more about exactly what we store here).
We designed Submit to store as little responder data as possible. responders authenticate themselves using their school Google accounts and never need to create a Screencastify account. We grab responder names and email addresses from the email account they signed in with.
Submit also temporarily stores responder videos on Screencastify's servers while the videos are being processed and uploaded to the teacher's Google Drive. No responder videos are stored on our servers for longer than 2 hours.
Videos shared by your responders are stored in your Google Drive account so you own the videos and have access. responders won't even need an account or extension installed to access and use Submit.
