You may have noticed the "Click here to sync" button at the bottom of your My Videos page. The My Videos page is synced with your Screencastify folder in your connected Google Drive. However, there may be times when you'll want to manually sync your videos. In this article, you will learn:
How to sync your videos
To manually sync your My Videos Dashboard with your Google Drive's Screencastify folder, you can click the "Click here to sync" button at the bottom of the My Videos Dashboard. Here's a quick walkthrough of that process:
When to sync your videos
Please see below for two situations when you'll want to sync your videos using the "Sync Videos" button:
- When you can't find previously recorded videos on the My Videos Dashboard
- When you're unable to delete videos from the My Videos Dashboard
When you can't find previously recorded videos on the My Videos Dashboard:
On your My Videos Dashboard, you may notice some of your previously created videos are not listed. If those videos are still present in your Google Drive's Screencastify folder, you likely need to sync your videos using the "Click here to sync" button. Once that sync is complete, your previously recorded videos that are still stored in your Screencastify folder should appear on the My Videos Dashboard 🤩
NOTE: When you delete or move a Screencastify recording from your Screencastify Google Drive folder, the recording will NOT be available on your 'My Videos' dashboard. Additionally, any videos that are in your Screencastify Google Drive folder that you are NOT the owner of, will not sync or appear on your 'My Videos' dashboard.
When you're unable to delete videos from the My Videos Dashboard
When you delete videos from Google Drive, you may notice they are not automatically removed from the My Videos Dashboard. When you try to delete those videos from the My Videos Dashboard, you may receive an error message. If this occurs, you can click the "Click here to sync" button to remove those unwanted videos from your My Videos Dashboard 🥳
