Screencastify allows you to customize your default video-sharing settings so your preferred access permissions are automatically applied whenever you create a new video.
Change Your Default Sharing Settings
- Sign in to your Screencastify account.
- Navigate to Profile > Settings.
- Locate Default Share Settings > Video Link Settings.
- Use the dropdown menus to select your preferred sharing permissions.
You can also access these settings by opening a video's Share window and selecting Manage Defaults.
Note: Default sharing settings apply when a video is created. Changing your defaults will not affect previously created videos, which retain their existing sharing permissions. You can still change an individual video's permissions through its Share window.
Using the Updated Share Window
The Share window now combines sharing permissions and access management in one place.
- Add People: Invite others to access your video.
- Link Privacy: Manage who can view your video.
- People with Access: Expand this section to view who has access.
- Copy Embed Code: Locate the embed icon alongside the sharing apps.
- Manage Defaults: Navigate to your default sharing settings.
Sharing Restrictions for Students
If your school administrator has disabled student-to-student sharing, your default video link settings will be locked to Restricted.
