Answer: Yes, you can discard a recording in-progress by clicking on the extension while recording and selecting the "delete" button.

1. Click on the extension in the top right corner of your Chrome window while a recording is in progress
2. Select the 'Trash' icon
3. When you see the confirmation message click "Discard"
