Track student watch time on a video
- Please give a quick overview of your product feature request or feedback and note who is affected by this issue [ex. teachers, admins, students, etc.]: It would be great if teachers could see how long or how much students watched of a video to ensure completion. Percentage watched by the viewer would allow a teacher to see how much an individual watched of their video in a percentage format. For example, the student watched 43% of the video.
- What problem do you see this solving? With this feature, a teacher will truly be able to understand whether the student watched a video and how much of the video was played (watched). This will give teachers greater insight into knowledge gaps and understanding if materials are fully completed.
- When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool? What happened? How often does this problem occur and how does this impact your work? Teachers are affected by this every time they share a video. It makes it difficult to understand if a student has watched everything you've asked them to.
- Are you currently using a workaround to solve this problem? (If yes, please explain) There is no current workaround for this/just an honors system if teachers ask a student
- What would be your ideal solution to this problem? How would it work or function? Ideally, in addition to seeing the date the video was watched, we could see how much of the video was viewed in percentages. It would be great, too, if there was a way to send reminders to those who have only partially viewed the video from within Screencastify.
