On some devices (including many SMART Notebooks), a specific Screencastify setting can cause your device to freeze when you start a recording.
To fix this, please follow these steps:
- Open the Screencastify extension's Main Menu by clicking on the extension icon
- Click on the 3 line hamburger menu
- Select Options
- Once the Options page opens, you will want to scroll down and disable Enable single application recording. It should look like this:
